The announcement was made during the 10th Special Convention of the EKSU Alumni Association held in Abuja, attended by key dignitaries including Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Chancellor Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, and EKSU Vice Chancellor Professor Babatola Ayodele.
Senator Bamidele revealed that the project aims to enhance sports facilities at the university, providing a venue for athletic events and promoting student engagement. He emphasized the significance of the mini stadium in benefiting not only the students and faculty of EKSU but also the surrounding local community.
The Senator noted that the proposal for the mini stadium was presented to President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu following discussions with Professor Ayodele during a recent visit to Abuja. The President has graciously approved the request, marking a significant step forward for the university’s sports development.
As the Life Patron of the EKSU Alumni Association, Senator Bamidele reaffirmed his commitment to attracting further interventions to support the university’s growth and development.
