Engr. Funso Ipadeola Assumes Duties as FUNAAB Director of Works and Services

Engr. Funso Ipadeola, the newly appointed Director of the Directorate of Works and Services at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), officially assumed office today, October 21, 2024. His assumption of duties followed a brief meeting with the university's management.

Engr. Funso Ipadeola, the newly appointed Director of the Directorate of Works and Services at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), officially assumed office today, October 21, 2024. His assumption of duties followed a brief meeting with the university's management.

Welcoming Engr. Ipadeola to his new role, Vice-Chancellor Professor Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Olukayode Akinyemi, congratulated him on his appointment. Professor Kehinde expressed confidence in Engr. Ipadeola’s ability to contribute significantly to FUNAAB's infrastructural development. He highlighted that the selection process adhered to the institution’s commitment to transparency and due process.

The Vice-Chancellor urged the new Director to build on the achievements of his predecessor and lead the Directorate of Works and Services to new heights. He emphasized the importance of further enhancing the university's physical infrastructure, which is key to supporting FUNAAB's mission of academic and research excellence.

In his remarks, Engr. Ipadeola expressed gratitude to the university's management for the opportunity, vowing to dedicate his efforts to advancing FUNAAB's infrastructure. He acknowledged the challenges that come with the role but expressed optimism that, with the support of his team and the university leadership, those challenges would be overcome.

Engr. Ipadeola also highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration and teamwork within the Directorate to achieve common goals and deliver on the university’s infrastructural needs.

The Acting Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu; the Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; and the Director of Physical Planning, Engr. Kehinde Bamisile, joined in congratulating the new Director. They all encouraged him to nurture a culture of cooperation within the Directorate of Works and Services to ensure continued progress in FUNAAB's infrastructural projects.

Before joining FUNAAB, Engr. Ipadeola served as Chief Engineer at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo. He also held the position of Director of Works and Services at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, from 2019 to 2024, while on leave of absence. A seasoned professional, Engr. Ipadeola holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1988), and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan (1995).

His wealth of experience, spanning over three decades in engineering and project management, positions him to lead the Directorate of Works and Services at FUNAAB with distinction, ensuring the continued growth and modernization of the university's infrastructure.
