Governor Peter Mbah's administration has allocated a significant portion of the recently passed 2024 budget, totaling 134.9 Billion Naira, with 33% dedicated to education and 73.6% to the social sector.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, revealed the details during a lecture organized by the Union Secondary School, Awkunanaw Enugu Old Boys Association. The lecture highlighted the government's commitment to training a workforce equipped with bio-digital-technology skills, essential for driving global advancements in the fourth industrial revolution.

The cornerstone of this education strategy is the construction of Smart Schools in each of the 260 wards across the state.
