Precious Okon, a remarkable Nigerian scholar, has achieved extraordinary academic success as the best-graduating student at Nile University Abuja, earning a perfect cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.0/5.0 in her Petroleum and Gas Engineering program. Her outstanding achievements have earned her a 100% scholarship to pursue her studies up to the PhD level.

Precious Okon's educational journey at Nile University was both fascinating and enlightening, as she had the opportunity to interact with individuals from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.

Coming from the southern part of Nigeria, Precious admitted to harboring preconceived notions about the northern region. However, her experience at the university shattered these misconceptions and allowed her to establish remarkable friendships. She also appreciated the serene environment of the university, especially in her earlier years when the student population was smaller.

Despite her rigorous academic pursuits, Precious was actively involved in volunteer roles and extracurricular activities. These roles included serving as an Energy4Me Ambassador with the Society of Petroleum Engineers International, taking on leadership positions such as President of the SPE Nile University Chapter and the Nile Christian Fellowship. She also volunteered in various capacities with the SPE Abuja Section 199.

During her tenure as the President of the SPE Nile Chapter, Precious and her team achieved numerous milestones, from planting 100 trees to commemorate Earth Day to initiating the Mental Health Awareness Series and Skills Development Series. Their efforts culminated in the Student Chapter Excellence Award in 2022, the second-highest recognition bestowed on any student chapter worldwide. Additionally, Precious received the Girl in STEM Leadership Award in 2021 from the Women's Leadership Programme under the SPE Nigeria Council.

She received plaques from the university, recognizing her as the best graduating student in her department and faculty, as well as the Distinguished Franklin Uchechukwu Okeke Merit Award for her exceptional academic performance. Several sponsors, including China Harbour Engineering Company Limited, Allison Rich, Red Bull, and Mouka Foam, also presented her with prizes, further underscoring her remarkable accomplishments.
