Exceptional Nigerian Student Secures Fully Funded Internship in Austria Amid Educational Challenges

Samuel Fajana, a determined young Nigerian student from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a fully funded internship at the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) headquarters in Vienna, Austria. This accomplishment comes despite ongoing educational disruptions in Nigeria, where universities have been closed due to staff strikes since February 2022.

Samuel, who has not yet completed his Bachelor's degree due to these prolonged strikes, seized the opportunity during this period to apply for the internship abroad. His persistence paid off after several unsuccessful attempts in previous years.
