A 300-level student of the Sociology department at Ebonyi State University (EBSU), AYOGU EBUBE EVANS, lost his life in a ghastly car crash on the afternoon of Saturday, December 2, in Abakaliki in the process of being chase by the police. This has sparked an outrage in the Ebonyi State Univerity community and Abakiliki at large. NANS has come out to vent their grievance against the police officers involved in the incident.
In a shocking turn of events, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called upon the Nigeria Police Force to thoroughly investigate the circumstances leading to the tragic death of Ayogu Evans, a 300-level student of Ebonyi State University. Evans lost his life in a ghastly car crash on Saturday, December 2, allegedly while being chased by the police.
According to reports, Evans, a Sociology student, had the accident and was rushed to the hospital by passersby, only to be confirmed dead a few hours later. The incident has raised concerns and questions about the actions of the police officers involved in the pursuit.

NANS, through its newly elected President, Pedro Obi, issued a statement on Tuesday expressing profound sadness over the untimely demise of the promising student. The student body is demanding a comprehensive investigation into the incident, with a call for swift action to identify and hold accountable any police officers found to be involved in the pursuit that led to Evans' death.
