The family of Felix Blaise Aliyu, a student at the Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna, has called for a thorough investigation into his alleged murder by senior students.

Speaking to reporters in Kaduna on Sunday, Paul, an uncle to the deceased, insisted that law enforcement agencies must conduct a comprehensive probe into the incident.

Reports indicate that Felix was allegedly murdered by two Senior Secondary School (SS3) students in the dormitory. They reportedly called him to their room under the pretext of disciplining him, but the situation tragically resulted in his death. The body of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Paul, who noted that Felix was an orphan whose parents died in 2013, emphasized that the best way for the school management and the Nigerian Air Force to honor Felix is to uncover the circumstances leading to his death. He described Felix as a brilliant and disciplined student, and expressed the family’s shock over his untimely demise.

“We were assured that an investigation is currently going on to fish out the culprits and see that justice is served. We as a family trust in the integrity of the school and the Air Force and we are confident that the killers of our son will not escape punishment,” he said.

In a statement issued by the NAF spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, it was noted that “The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar and indeed the entire NAF family are saddened by the painful and unfortunate incident of the untimely death of one of our students at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna on June 19, 2024.”

Although the Nigerian Air Force did not disclose the name of the victim or the cause of death in their statement on Sunday, they confirmed that a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the details of the incident. “To avoid all sorts of speculations, a thorough investigation is currently ongoing to unravel how, why and what actually led to the death of the victim,” the statement read.
