Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Raping 15-Year-Old Student in Ekiti State
The High Court in Ado-Ekiti has convicted and sentenced Ojo Ayegbusi to life imprisonment for the rape of a 15-year-old female student. the presiding Judge, Justice John Adeyeye, declared that the prosecution had proven the rape offense beyond a reasonable doubt.

The High Court in Ado-Ekiti has convicted and sentenced Ojo Ayegbusi to life imprisonment for the rape of a 15-year-old female student.
The crime took place on November 11, 2022 in Ikole, Ekiti, and the victim was attacked on her way home from school. According to reports, the victim was lured into Ojo's room where he sexually assaulted her. The incident remained a secret until the girl collapsed at home, bleeding profusely from her private parts and was rushed to the hospital by her father.

During the court proceedings on Wednesday, During the court proceedings, the Director of Public Prosecutions in Ekiti State, Julius Ajibare, stated that the crime of rape is a violation of Section 31(2) of the Child’s Rights Law in Ekiti State. Ajibare presented five witnesses and three exhibits to support the case against Ojo Ayegbusi.
In defense, Ojo Ayegbusi's lawyer, E. O. Sunmonu, presented evidence and called one witness.

However, the presiding Judge, Justice John Adeyeye, declared that the prosecution had proven the rape offense beyond a reasonable doubt. As a result, Ojo Ayegbusi was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
