Father Fatally Beats Teacher After School Disciplines Son for Alleged Palm Wine Theft in Delta State
"The matter was reported to the school authorities and the students were flogged. The suspect came to the school in protest, with a cane, and started flogging teachers in the school. One of the teachers slumped and died." Bright Edafe Said.
The Delta State Police Command has taken a father, identified as Nnajiofor Nweke, into custody for his alleged involvement in the tragic death of a teacher at Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The unfortunate incident transpired on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, following a disciplinary action against the suspect's son for his alleged involvement in the theft of palm wine.
According to the spokesperson of the state Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, the incident began when the suspect's son and several other students from the school visited a palm wine shop and were purportedly involved in the theft of two kegs of palm wine.

Upon receiving reports of the theft, the school authorities identified the students involved and administered disciplinary measures, including corporal punishment.
However, after learning of the disciplinary action taken against his child, the suspect arrived at the school with a cane and allegedly began assaulting the teachers. Tragically, during the altercation, one of the teachers collapsed and died.

The incident has resulted in the arrest of Nnajiofor Nweke, who is currently being investigated for his suspected involvement in the teacher's death, now treated as a potential murder case.
