Federal Government Appoints Prof. Isaac Adewole as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Canada

In a strategic diplomatic move, the Federal Government has announced the appointment of Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole as the new High Commissioner of Nigeria to Canada.

A distinguished academic and seasoned administrator, Professor Adewole brings an extensive portfolio to his new diplomatic role. He previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Health and is a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan. 

A Legacy of Academic and Community Service

Beyond his national service, Professor Adewole, a dedicated Ijesa indigene, has been a pivotal figure in the regional educational landscape. He played a fundamental role in the conceptualization and establishment of the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), advocating for its transition to a full-fledged university to serve the Osun State community.

Diplomatic Expectations

His appointment is expected to strengthen the bilateral ties between Nigeria and Canada, particularly in the areas of healthcare collaboration, educational exchange, and economic partnerships.
