The Federal Government has announced Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The announcement was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, in a statement issued by the ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
In his statement, the minister extended congratulations to the Muslim Ummah and encouraged all Nigerians to use the holiday for prayer and reflection. He emphasized the importance of embodying the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period.
