Federal Polytechnic Bali Mourns the Loss of Ibrahim Saleh Bali

The Federal Polytechnic Bali has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ibrahim Saleh Bali, a former staff member and esteemed academic, who died on November 23, 2024, at the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe, after a long illness. He was buried the same day in Gombe according to Islamic rites.

Federal Polytechnic Bali Mourns the Loss of Ibrahim Saleh Bali

The Federal Polytechnic Bali community has joined in mourning the passing of Ibrahim Saleh Bali, a distinguished academic and former staff member, who passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe, following a protracted illness. He was laid to rest the same day in Gombe, according to Islamic rites.

A condolence delegation from the Polytechnic, led by the Deputy Rector, Engr. Sani Isa Abubakar, visited the Palace of Kur Jibu Bali and the immediate family of the deceased on Monday, November 25, 2024, to express their heartfelt sympathies.

The late Ibrahim Saleh Bali was celebrated for his remarkable service in various capacities throughout his career. He began as an Immigration Officer before transitioning into academia, where he served at the College of Education, Jalingo, and Federal College of Education, Zuba. At Federal Polytechnic Bali, he held positions such as Senior Assistant Registrar, Principal Assistant Registrar, Student Affairs Officer, and Academic Secretary. After a three-year leave of absence at the Federal University Wukari, he returned to the Polytechnic before moving to Taraba State University, Jalingo, as a Lecturer.

In their tribute, the delegation recalled Ibrahim Saleh’s commitment to academic excellence and human development, highlighting the legacy he left behind in the institutions he served.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Malam Umar Ibrahim Baba, Deputy Registrar (Information and Protocol), described the late Ibrahim Saleh as an inspiration to many. “He was more than a colleague; he was a friend and a mentor whose contributions will remain unforgettable. His passing is a great loss to all who knew him,” he stated.

The Emir of Kur Jibu Bali expressed gratitude to the Polytechnic’s management for their visit and the respect shown to the deceased. He called for prayers, forgiveness on behalf of Ibrahim Saleh, and the settlement of any obligations he may have left behind.

Ibrahim Saleh Bali is survived by two wives and 15 children, who are now navigating the profound loss of their loved one.

The visit concluded with prayers for the eternal repose of his soul and for solace for his family. The Management of Federal Polytechnic Bali pledged to continue supporting the family and preserving the memory of Ibrahim Saleh Bali through their dedication to educational service.
