Dr. Uche Onyegbu, the Acting Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, has officially inaugurated the "Operation Go Green Project" with a tree planting initiative at the institution's extension site. In his address, the Ag. Rector also appealed to the Anambra State Government for support in addressing gully erosion challenges within the polytechnic grounds. Highlighting the critical need for collaborative efforts, he called upon state authorities to join hands with the institution in implementing sustainable measures to mitigate erosion risks effectively.

"We appeal to the state government to collaborate with us in our efforts to control the various gully erosion sites in the institution," Dr. Onyegbu stated, underscoring the urgency of proactive environmental management.
