FEDPOFFA Rector Inagurates Procurement and Projects Planning Committee

The Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin led administration has constituted and inaugurated the Procurement and Projects Planning Committee for the Polytechnic.

The inauguration, held on Thursday 18th April, 2024 took place at the  New Boardroom, Main Campus.

While expressing his heartfelt gratitude to each member of the Committee for accepting the important responsibility, Rector noted that constituting the Committee signifies a step forward in the commitment to excellence, transparency and efficiency in all procurement and project endeavours of the Polytechnic.

Speaking further, he informed the members that an immense responsibility had been entrusted upon them, saying that their role is pivotal in ensuring that the procurement processes are conducted with utmost integrity, adhering strictly to the tenets of due process that define the Polytechnic.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, you will all agree with me that in today's rapidly evolving landscape, the importance of efficient project management cannot be overstated. Our ability to successfully execute projects in a timely and cost-effective manner, bearing in mind the need to apply the principle of Due Process, is essential for the continued growth and development of our institution. Therefore, I urge each member of this Committee to approach their duties with uncompromised diligence, dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence," he said.

Engr. Dr. Kadiri who called for collaboration and open communication among all stakeholders involved also charged members to be guided by the principles of integrity, fairness, and accountability and as well strive to make a positive impact on the future of the institution.

Also speaking, the Registrar, Mr. G. O. Soko noted that the constitution of the Committee is another testament to Rector's all inclusive administration and the open door policy he adopted since the inception of his administration. While appreciating the Rector for the unique initiative taken and his style of leadership, the Registrar hoped that the subsequent administration would borrow a leaf from the legacy he would leave behind.

As read out by the Registrar, the Terms of Reference for the Committee are: to review procurement and project plans to ensure that procurement and project expenditure is provided for in the budget; to indicate the appropriate procurement and project methods for each project to be embarked upon; to prepare needs assessment and evaluation; to identify the goods, works, services, of procurement; and to ensure preparation of yearly procurement and projects plan.

While giving the vote of thanks, Deputy Rector (Administrations), Dr. R. I. Salimonu appreciated the Rector for incorporating more members, not only to make the work transparent but for everyone to be part of the progress and development of the school. He assured the Rector that the committee would perform beyond his expectations and ensure that projects are satisfactorily completed.
