In a recent address during the International Women’s Day celebration organized by the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike Women Association (MOUAUWA), former Abia State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Nnenna Obewu Onwuka, emphasized the importance of women assisting their husbands in paying their children’s school fees.

Mrs. Onwuka urged women to alleviate the financial burden on their husbands by contributing to school fees payments, rather than hoarding their money. She highlighted instances where children are deprived of education due to the lack of timely payment, attributing this to some mothers waiting for their husbands to provide the fees.

"Support your husbands in paying school fees," Mrs. Onwuka emphasized. "Contribute to whatever he has to pay school fees, don’t hoard the money."

During her speech, she also called upon women, especially widows, to break societal barriers and become captains of industry, stressing the importance of women taking their place in society.
