In a devastating turn of events, three promising students from Abia State University Uturu, all enrolled in the prestigious Medicine and Surgery program, lost their lives in a tragic auto crash. The incident occurred on the Okigwe axis of the Enugu-Umuahia Expressway as they were returning from the school’s induction ceremony for medical students.

According to reports, the victims were on their way back to Aba when the driver of their vehicle lost control, resulting in a fatal somersault. Among the casualties, one student, identified as Favour Okpanku, a 500 Level Medical and Surgery student, tragically lost her life in the accident.

Confirming the grim incident, the Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia State, Fredrick Ogiden, stated that the vehicle involved was an ash-colored private Toyota Camry. Rescue efforts were swiftly initiated by the FRSC, with two other students sustaining severe injuries and currently fighting for their lives in the hospital.
