Federal University Dutse FUD Unveils NUC Approved Health Sciences Programmes,The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially sanctioned the inception of various health and science-related academic programmes.
These new offerings will commence in the upcoming 2023/2024 Academic Session.
New Undergraduate Health Sciences Programmes
FUD is broadening its academic canvas with the introduction of the following undergraduate courses:
- B.NSc Nursing Science
- B.Sc Public Health
- B.Sc Environmental Health Sciences

These programmes have been strategically chosen to bolster the university’s role in producing skilled professionals capable of addressing the growing health challenges within the region and beyond.
A Leap in Postgraduate Education
The NUC’s approval extends to an impressive array of postgraduate programmes as well, demonstrating FUD’s commitment to advancing research and expertise:
- PhD in Computer Science
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), MSc, and PhD in Biotechnology
- PhD in Economics
- PGD and MSc in Health Economics
- Masters in Health Economics
- MSc in Animal Science
- MSc in Crop Science
The inclusion of these postgraduate programmes is expected to enhance academic research capabilities and contribute to the nation’s socio-economic development.
The Approval Process
This expansion has been made possible following a meticulous verification exercise conducted by the NUC.
The approval letter, signed by Abubakar M. Gire, the Acting Director of Academic Planning, confirmed the establishment of these programmes in a full-time mode.
