The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET) Professor Chinedu Mmom has paid a strategic academic visit to the LSU College of the Coast and Environment, engaging faculty leadership in discussions centered on environmental research collaboration, institutional development, and shared ecological challenges.

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET) Professor Chinedu Mmom has paid a strategic academic visit to the LSU College of the Coast and Environment, engaging faculty leadership in discussions centered on environmental research collaboration, institutional development, and shared ecological challenges.

The visit, which took place on Monday, brought the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET), Koroma/Saakpenwa, Ogoni, Rivers State, Nigeria, into direct engagement with the Dean and academic staff of the LSU College of the Coast and Environment.

FUET, a newly established institution focused on environmental and technological education, was at the center of discussions as Prof. Mmom outlined its vision, mission, early-stage challenges, and key milestones recorded since inception.

A major focus of the engagement was the exploration of areas of mutual interest between both institutions, particularly in environmental sustainability, coastal ecosystem management, and climate-related research. Both sides emphasized the shared ecological realities between Nigeria’s Niger Delta region and the coastal and Gulf Coast regions of Louisiana, United States.

The discussions highlighted opportunities for future academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and long-term institutional partnerships aimed at addressing complex environmental problems through collaborative science and innovation.

Prof. Mmom noted that the engagement provided a productive platform for knowledge sharing and expressed appreciation to the Dean and faculty members for their openness and support during the visit.
