The Management of Jakura Marble Nigeria Limited joined well-wishers to congratulate Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye on his emergence and historic inauguration as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, acknowledging his leadership qualities and vision to take the Institution to greater heights.
During the courtesy visit, the delegation highlighted the existing partnership with the University, particularly in the training of SIWES students from the Department of Geology through structured internship programmes. The team noted that this collaboration has provided valuable industrial exposure and practical learning opportunities for students.
In furtherance of this relationship, the delegation stated that their visit was not only to congratulate the Vice-Chancellor but also to offer their goodwill and prayers for continued success and a strong completion of his tenure.
They also informed the Vice-Chancellor of their partnership with the national body of Geosciences, and announced their forthcoming Annual General Meeting scheduled to hold in Lokoja from October 12 to 15. In this regard, they formally submitted a request for institutional collaboration and support.
Jakura Marble Nigeria Limited operates across two major sites: Obajana, where it manages operations involving processing activities and related industrial engagements. Lokoja (Phase Two), where they specialize in stone cutting and the extraction of limestone used for tiles and other durable natural stone products, noted for their longevity compared to synthetic alternatives.
The Vice-Chancellor on his part, warmly received the delegation and expressed his condolences to the Managing Director/CEO who lost a relative recently. While appreciating the team for their visit, kind words, and continued partnership with the University, Professor Ibileye acknowledged the value of the existing collaboration, particularly in providing industrial experience for students, and emphasized the need to expand the scope of the relationship.
He noted that with the University’s growing academic offerings, including Engineering, there are significant opportunities to extend collaboration into areas such as Geology, Building, Architecture, and other related disciplines.
