FUL Vice-Chancellor Pledges Strategic Transformation and Welfare Boost for University International College
The Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Prof. Gbenga Ibileye, has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the FUL International College into a premier model of academic excellence.
While receiving a delegation from the College during a courtesy visit on Tuesday, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that his administration is prepared to invest heavily in both the infrastructure and the human capital of the college.
Prof. Ibileye declared that his team will not spare any effort to ensure the College reaches a level that everyone can be proud of, noting that although his preliminary assessment highlighted several areas requiring urgent attention, the college remains a top priority on his administrative itinerary.
Meanwhile, the significant visit was led by the College Board Chairman and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. S.D. Musa, who led the delegation to formally congratulate Prof. Ibileye on his emergence as the fourth Vice Chancellor of the University.
During the visit, the delegation highlighted the College’s vital role as a core component of the University’s corporate social responsibility to the host community.
In response, Prof. Ibileye stressed that any school affiliated with the university must serve as a benchmark for quality.
The VC pointed out that the College is expected to "preach standards" to other institutions, signaling a clear intent to provide a comprehensive facelift that aligns the school with international best practices.
Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor addressed critical concerns regarding personnel and staff motivation.
He assured the staff that their well-being remains a cornerstone of his agenda, revealing that plans are already in motion to review salary scales following recent council approvals and resolutions from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the Board.
Prof. Ibileye also announced that strategic partnerships are being leveraged to secure investments for a permanent site and professional development programs.
He emphasized that staff welfare will not be taken for granted, as the administration is working with partners who have promised to invest in the growth of teachers and staff.
