FULafia VC Prof. Shehu Rahman New Year Message 2023
The year 2022 was, no doubt, challenging but we thank God for granting us the grace to overcome our challenges and record some significant achievements in the University.
New Year Message from Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia)
As a New Year, 2023, ushers in and the old, 2022, gone, I, on behalf of the Management of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), congratulate the staff and students for witnessing this amazing period.
We should thank the Almighty God for making it possible for us to witness the passage of the previous year and welcome a new one healthily and in celebratory mood.
However, while New Year celebrations are among the oldest and the most universally observed, New Year is not just about celebrations and making resolutions as it symbolises an occasion to recommit ourselves to good old practices as well.
In essence, New Year celebrations hold a greater significance, especially for members of a community such as ours, where the values of excellence, innovation and integrity are shared and respected with members committing themselves to upholding the values.
Therefore , as a New Year dawns, I pray that a new consciousness dawns within us in the University community to guide us to work together to achieve our goals of making FULafia the fifth best University in Africa.
The year 2022 was, no doubt, challenging but we thank God for granting us the grace to overcome our challenges and record some significant achievements in the University.
Consequently, I thank the staff and students and stakeholders of our University for the support and cooperation my administration has enjoyed in the previous year.
We hope that this New Year will give us another opportunity to work harder in order to achieve the goals and objectives we have set for ourselves.
While I urge you to continue to pray for the progress of FULafia, I assure you of the commitment of my administration to continue to implement policies, programmes and projects that will honour and enhance reputation of our University.
I wish you all a prosperous New Year!
Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman
Vice-Chancellor
