The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to technological advancement following a courtesy and appreciation visit from the university’s key digital units.

The meeting, held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Old Senate Chamber, Permanent Site Campus, featured delegations from the Directorate of ICT and the Directorate of Management Information Systems (MIS).

The visit was led by the acting directors of the respective units: Mrs. Saratu Haruna (ICT) and Engr. Torkuma Agber (MIS). The directors expressed their gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his consistent support in upgrading the university’s digital infrastructure, which has streamlined administrative processes and enhanced the student learning experience.

In his response, Prof. Abdul Rahman praised the teams for their technical expertise and dedication. He noted that the seamless integration of ICT and MIS services is central to his vision of a "smart campus" that thrives on transparency and data-driven decision-making.

"The progress we have made in digitising our operations is a testament to the hard work of these directorates," the Vice-Chancellor remarked. He urged the staff to remain innovative, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity and e-learning platforms, to ensure FULafia remains a leader in the Nigerian higher education landscape.

The visit concluded with a commitment from both directorates to further enhance the university's portal services and network stability to meet the evolving needs of the 2026 academic session.
