The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has appointed Prof. Biodun Badmus of the Department of Physics, College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), as the new Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has appointed Prof. Biodun Badmus of the Department of Physics, College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), as the new Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning.

The appointment takes effect from May 2, 2026, for a three-year tenure, according to the Ag. Head of the Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide.

In his new role, Prof. Badmus is expected to provide strategic leadership in strengthening academic planning systems and advancing institutional development across the university.

Prof. Badmus is a seasoned academic and administrator with extensive experience in university governance. He previously served as Head of the Department of Physics and currently chairs the university’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, where he has been instrumental in driving community engagement initiatives and institutional outreach.

He also served as the former Branch Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNAAB Chapter, where he was known for his active involvement in staff welfare and advocacy for academic excellence.

Beyond departmental leadership, he has held key administrative roles, including Chairmanship of the Ceremonials Committee. He was recently recognised by the Governing Council for his contributions as a former council member, with particular commendation for his impact through the CSR Committee and broader institutional service.

The appointment is widely viewed within the university as a continuation of his longstanding involvement in academic administration and institutional development at FUNAAB.
