FUNAAB Bakery Reopens as VC Commissions Renovated Facility

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has revived its bakery operations following the commissioning of a newly renovated facility by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde. The initiative aligns with the university’s commitment to food security and Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger).

The bakery, a product of a Public-Private Partnership between FUNAAB and Nutrient Life Group of Companies, aims to provide high-quality bread and pastries for the university community and beyond. Prof. Kehinde emphasized the importance of continuous production, particularly on weekends, to meet the demands of over 4,000 students residing on campus.

To support the initiative, the Vice-Chancellor has directed the Environmental Unit, led by Mr. Peter Bolarinwa, to regulate bread sales on campus by limiting external supplies and prioritizing products from the university’s bakery.
