FUNAAB Dam: Largest in Any Nigerian University, Proclaims Pro-Chancellor
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, recently lauded FUNAAB's dam as the largest among Nigerian universities during his inaugural campus visit.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), hailed the university's dam as the largest in any Nigerian university during a recent familiarization tour.

During his tour of FUNAAB's facilities, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi expressed admiration for the scale and meticulous maintenance of the dam. He praised the university management for their dedication and highlighted the substantial investment in its construction and upkeep.
The Pro-Chancellor noted the dam's impressive capacity of 7 billion litres of water and suggested that with proper management, it could become a tourist attraction, fostering aquacultural activities. He emphasized the potential for generating significant income through aquatic products.

Additionally, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi visited the Institute of Human Resources Development (INHURD), describing it as a "university within a University." He proposed the introduction of Diploma and Certificate programs to enhance FUNAAB's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and promised improvements to access roads.
In response, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde expressed gratitude for the Pro-Chancellor's visit, affirming FUNAAB's integration into Iragbiji Land. He praised the Pro-Chancellor's commitment to realizing the university's vision and wished for continued success under his leadership.
Prof. Sheriff Adewuyi, Director of INHURD, welcomed the Pro-Chancellor and highlighted the institute's educational programs, including JUPEB and Pre-Degree programs, aimed at enhancing student readiness and academic excellence.
