FUNAAB Partners with FRIN to Establish Genome Species Plantation for Environmental Conservation

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, reaffirmed FUNAAB's unwavering support for the initiative. Stressing the project's manifold benefits, including environmental enhancement, student training opportunities, and economic advantages for the nation, Prof. Adebayo underscored the university's commitment to fostering sustainable practices.
Prof. Segun Oladoye, an expert in Forest Ecology and Conservation at FUNAAB, expressed the university's enthusiasm for the collaboration. He emphasized the project's alignment with FUNAAB's dedication to nature preservation and its contributions to human welfare. The plantation, besides serving as a repository for indigenous flora, will also function as a recreational and tourism hotspot, further enriching the campus environment.
Mr. Salahudeen AbdulWaheed, the Forestation Program Officer from FRIN, echoed the significance of expanding forest cover nationwide and lauded FUNAAB's proactive stance. He praised the tripartite agreement between FUNAAB, FRIN, and the financier, underscoring the collaborative spirit driving the initiative forward.
