The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) hosted its third annual end-of-year celebration, honoring principal officers, staff from the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), and others with Vice-Chancellor’s awards for their dedication to the university's growth.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman presented the awards during the event, commending the recipients for their roles in advancing FULafia. He emphasized the event's significance as a time to thank God for peace and unity in the institution, review activities of 2024, and celebrate outstanding contributions from staff members.

Prof. Amos Ambo, Chairman of the organizing committee, highlighted the importance of fostering unity and friendship among university workers.

The event also attracted officials from the Federal University Lokoja, who came to observe Prof. Abdul Rahman’s welfare initiatives, and various dignitaries, including Dr. John Mamman, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Education. Internal members of the FULafia Governing Council, the university’s Christian community, and leaders from unions such as ASUU, SSANU, and NAAT also delivered goodwill messages.

Highlights included a cow donation by the Vice-Chancellor to the university’s Christian community and a financial contribution of ₦200,000 by Dr. Mamman. The event’s atmosphere was enriched by performances from the Nasarawa State Cultural Troupe and FULafia Theatre and Media Arts students.

Initiated by Prof. Abdul Rahman in 2021, the annual get-together recognizes staff achievements, fostering a culture of appreciation and teamwork within the university community.
