The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has issued a new directive regarding class dues for students, with a focus on promoting transparency and preventing extortion. This was made known in a recent statement by the SUG President, Abiodun Olorunshola Mary.

According to the announcement, class dues have been standardized based on class size. For classes with 1 to 70 students, the dues should not exceed ₦300. Classes with 71 to 100 students are capped at ₦400, while classes with over 101 students should pay no more than ₦200.

The dues are to be paid once per session to support the smooth running of class activities throughout the semester. The SUG emphasizes that any dues collected beyond these limits will be considered extortion.

In a stern warning, the union noted that any student found guilty of extortion or misappropriation of funds would be summoned before the Students' Disciplinary Committee for thorough investigation.
