FUOYE Vice-Chancellor Unveils Plan for New Faculty at Ikole Campus, Initiates Free Medical Outreach
The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has revealed plans to establish a new faculty at the Ikole campus of the university, signaling further development and expansion within the institution.

During a visit to the Ikole community, Professor Fasina announced the creation of the Computing and Informatics faculty, receiving praise from the community members who lauded his commitment to their welfare.
Addressing the community during a free medical outreach event held at the Elekole Palace in Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Professor Fasina reiterated his administration's dedication to enhancing community services and fostering mutual benefits between the university and its host communities.
Highlighting the significance of the new faculty, Professor Fasina emphasized its role in promoting educational advancement and driving economic growth in the region. He commended the community for their continued support and outlined initiatives aimed at furthering collaboration between the university and the local population.

In addition to the establishment of the Computing and Informatics faculty, Professor Fasina underscored ongoing efforts to promote agricultural development, citing the successful implementation of the agriculture green revolution initiative. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in the production and distribution of farm produce, thereby stimulating economic activity and ensuring food security.
Furthermore, Professor Fasina reaffirmed the university's commitment to providing essential healthcare services to the community. The medical outreach, conducted as part of FUOYE's 8th convocation ceremonies, benefited over 200 indigents who received free medical examinations and treatment.
The event, led by the university's Chief Medical Director, Dr. Musibau Olawale, underscored the university's dedication to community engagement and public health initiatives. Dr. Olawale expressed gratitude to the community for their participation and urged individuals to prioritize their health and well-being.
In response, representatives of the Ikole community, including HRM Oba Adewumi Ajibade Fasiku Elekole, commended Professor Fasina and his team for their efforts in extending medical services to the community. They appealed for additional faculties at the Ikole campus and suggested the immortalization of a prominent community member, Mr. Kolawole Barnabas, who recently passed away.
