FUTA Alumnus, Raymond Aderoju, Begins Master's Degree at University of Georgia on Full-Ride Scholarship

Raymond Aderoju, FUTA's top geology graduate of 2021, has started his Master’s degree at the University of Georgia, USA, on a full-ride scholarship, reflecting on his journey from Iseyin to international academic success.

Raymond Aderoju, the best graduating student from the Department of Applied Geology, Class of 2021, at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has begun his Master’s degree program at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA, after winning a prestigious full-ride scholarship.

Reflecting on his academic journey, Aderoju shared how his education at FUTA laid the foundation for his success. During his undergraduate years, he earned several accolades, including the University Prize for Best Graduating Student in Applied Geology, Dr. Olusegun Agagu’s Prize, and the Professor Adegoke Prize for Best Student in Petroleum Geology.

Aderoju credited much of his success to the support of his mentors, particularly Dr. Olufemi N. Fajolu, whose guidance and encouragement were pivotal throughout his academic journey. He also expressed deep gratitude to his lecturers, Dr. Adeshina Adisa, Dr. Sunday Daramola, and Emmanuel Igonor, who served as educators and father figures.
