FUTMINNA SUG President Commissions Solar-Powered Borehole

The Students' Union Government (SUG) President of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Comrade Divine Prince Daniel, has commissioned a solar-powered borehole project at the school hostel. The ceremony was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, and other esteemed management staff.

The solar-powered borehole aims to provide a reliable source of water for students, addressing the challenges of water scarcity and frequent power outages on campus.

The project involved converting an existing borehole with an external outlet into a solar-powered facility, allowing students to access water at all times.

The SUG President hopes to extend this initiative to every hostel and both campuses (Bosso and Gidan Kwano), setting a precedent for future student leaders.

Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta commended the Student Union for executing a forward-thinking initiative, emphasizing the importance of everyone playing a part in bringing about change. He encouraged subsequent Union Leaders to take up more initiatives that better students' lives.

Comrade Divine Prince Daniel described the project as meeting the current needs of students, highlighting the long queues and distances students previously endured to fetch water. He emphasized that leadership is about meeting real needs and hopes future Union leaders will build on this foundation to do more .
