FUTMinna SUG Suspends Campus Bike Operations Over Transport Fare Hikes

The Students’ Union of Federal University of Technology Minna, Gidan Kwano Campus, wishes to formally inform the general student body that bike (Okada) operations within the campus have been temporarily suspended.

This suspension will take effect from Thursday, 26th February, 2026, and will remain in force until further notice.

This decision follows several meetings and negotiations between the SUG and the Bike Association regarding approved transportation fares. Despite our mutual agreements, there have been continuous reports of price hiking and non-compliance with the agreed rates.

The welfare and financial well-being of students remain our utmost priority. The Union cannot tolerate any action that imposes unnecessary hardship on students.

We kindly urge all students to bear with the Union as we actively work towards resolving this issue in the best interest of the entire student body. Be assured that alternative arrangements will be explored and communicated accordingly to ease movement within the campus.
