Ghanaian Scholar Triumphs at University of Oxford, Secures Master's Degree in African Studies

In a celebration of academic excellence, Samira Mohammed IBN Moro, a young Ghanaian lady who earned a scholarship to the University of Oxford, has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining her master's degree at the renowned institution in the United Kingdom.

Her master's thesis delved into the intersection of gender, development, and media, showcasing her commitment to exploring critical issues affecting the African continent. Samira, who had previously excelled with first-class honors in Journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, was the institution's top graduating student.
In an interview with Face2Face, Samira highlighted her choice of African Studies for her master's degree, emphasizing its potential to provide comprehensive, practical solutions to gender inequality and cultural challenges in Ghana and Africa at large.

During her time at Oxford, Samira actively participated in the 2023 internship project, focusing on investigating the digital needs of students. Combining her interest in digital communications with her firsthand experience as an international student, she brought valuable insights to the project.
Looking ahead, Samira expressed her aspirations to continue working as a journalist, contributing to the people of Ghana, while concurrently pursuing a doctorate degree in African Studies.
