Led by Abdullahi Muhammad, a Political Sciences student, a plea has been submitted to the university administration urging a reconsideration of this policy.

In his letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Abdullahi Muhammad highlighted several critical points that shed light on the challenges faced by students due to the forced evacuation. One major concern raised was the financial burden imposed on students, particularly those hailing from remote areas. Moreover, the abrupt evacuation poses security risks and disrupts the routine of students who choose to stay on campus during breaks. This raises questions about the safety and well-being of students without alternative accommodation arrangements.

The academic impact of this policy was also highlighted. Many students utilize these breaks for personal study or collaborative academic pursuits. Being compelled to leave the campus disrupts their academic focus and may adversely affect their performance.
