Governor Agbu Kefas ordered the immediate release of three months Salaries, of TASU Staff

Addressing the gathering of management of Taraba State University Jalingo, ASSU and other Union leadership and representative of students union, Dr Agbu Kefas condemned threat of imminent strikes from the unions and said the issues of outstanding salaries in the Institution was inherited and that He is going to address them all.

The Governor observed that addressing the outstanding payment is not only a matter of financial responsibility but a moral obligation to the educators.

The Governor explained that He understood the gravity of the situation and challenges confronting the Institution and acknowledged the contribution of the academic staff in shaping the future of the state through education.

Dr Agbu Kefas identified dialogue and understanding as way of resolving problems confronting the Taraba State University Jalingo.

He described the academic staff as builders of dreams and guardians of the future of the young generation.

He reiterated his commitment to prompt payment of salaries, pension and gratuity and said he is committed to implementation of the minimum wage by October.

To the students of Taraba State University, the Governor said they are the heart and soul of the education system and Urged them to forcus on their study.

The Vice Chancellor Taraba State University Prof Sunday Bako and ASSU branch chairman Dr Mbaveh Garba, commended the Governor for convening the meeting, describing it as first of it kind and lauded him for agreeing to offset three months Salaries of the Institution.
