I Studied from 3am to 6am Daily” — FUTO First-Class Graduate Shares Blueprint for Success
Christopher Asor, a 23-year-old Computer Science graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), has become a source of inspiration for students across Nigeria after revealing the rigorous discipline that led to his First-Class honors.
Graduating with a remarkable 4.7 CGPA, Asor attributed his success to a strict "3:00 AM to 6:00 AM" daily study routine dedicated to deep learning. Beyond his early morning sessions, he emphasized the importance of academic prioritization and seeking mentorship from senior colleagues.
The first of five children and a native of Imo State, Asor’s journey was marked by significant personal hardship. In 2021, he faced the devastating loss of his father. Despite the emotional and financial strain, he remained steadfast, credited the values of resourcefulness and time management instilled by his parents for keeping him on track.
Asor’s influence at FUTO extended beyond the classroom. He balanced his high-level studies with significant leadership roles, including:
Class Representative (Emerging as the Best Course Representative)
ISEC Secretary
Future Aspirations and Advice
With his degree in hand as of January 2026, Asor aims to pivot into the tech industry, focusing on product development, design, and content creation. His mission is to build products that solve real-world problems.
To current students, his message is clear: "Be intentional about your goals." He advocates for choosing academic excellence over short-term distractions, asserting that hard work and resilience remain the most reliable paths to success.
His story serves as a timely reminder to the academic community that consistency and a clear vision can overcome even the most challenging circumstances.
