Ibadan School Proprietor Vanishes with WAEC, NECO Fees, Leaves Students in Financial Crisis.
The proprietor of a private school in Ibadan, Oyo State, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, has allegedly disappeared with the funds intended for students’ West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council exams (NECO). Reports suggest that he had sold off his properties, including his home and the school, to fund his escape abroad, leaving students and parents in shock and financial hardship.

This news was brought to public attention by the founder of Planet 3R, Adegoke Lasisi, who shared the story on Facebook. Her post revealed the anguish of numerous parents who had gone to great lengths, even borrowing money, to ensure their children could sit for these vital exams. She explained that all the intending candidates who wished to take the WAEC examination paid the sum of 95,000NGN. However, their hopes were dashed when they discovered that despite collecting the fees, the school had not registered their children for the exams

Mr. Adeyemo’s actions have been seen as a deep betrayal of trust, especially given his long-standing operation of “The Lord’s Favour” school for over two decades. Reports suggest that he had sold off his properties, including his home and the school, to fund his escape abroad, leaving students and parents in shock and financial hardship.
Adejoke wrote, “The full name of the man who absconded with WAEC/NECO/JAMB money is Sunday Adeyemo. Owner of The Lord’s Favour school, Amuro, Ibadan. “By the way, he used to organize tutorials back in the day; even my younger sister was one of his students. He founded the school which he gathered money from and which he eventually used to flee, leaving the students stranded. I know he will face justice just the way he fled by the special grace of God”.

She added that he was last seen three weeks ago before the incident.
