The 11th Student Product Exhibition at the Sir (DR) David Osunde Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition showcased the culmination of the university’s efforts in fostering entrepreneurial skills.
Professor Ezemonye highlighted the university’s academic culture, emphasising its focus on entrepreneurial knowledge, thinking, idea generation, and business model opportunities. He outlined the multifaceted approach adopted by the university to instill entrepreneurial culture, including entrepreneurship pedagogy for all disciplines, mentorship, enterprise incubation, creation hubs, and support for student start-ups.
The VC underscored the importance of adaptability and innovation in higher education and commended the students for their tenacity and creative thinking as demonstrated through the products exhibited.

Dr. Nneka Okekearu, the guest speaker and Director of the Enterprise Development Centre at Pan-Atlantic University, stressed the need for investment in entrepreneurship and the digital economy to drive creative thinking and economic growth.
Hon. Patrick Iris Ikpefa Uanseru, the Special Guest of Honour and Hon. Commissioner for Business, Trade, and Cooperatives, Edo State, lauded Igbinedion University’s role as a leader in entrepreneurship among tertiary institutions in the state. He emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship and the digital economy in fostering Nigeria’s growth and development.
The commissioner highlighted the state government’s commitment to attracting investors and making Edo State the preferred investment destination in Nigeria, emphasising the link between entrepreneurship, industrialization, and economic growth, leading to job creation and poverty alleviation.
The event featured an exhibition of finished products by students from various schools, including fashion (make-up and gele) and bead making, hair care, music, fashion designing and tailoring, technology and creativity, shoe making, and textile design, among others.
