Ilorin Aviation College Graduates 10 Pilots, Sets New Training Standards

The International Aviation College (IAC) in Ilorin graduated 10 pilot students, including nine with Commercial Pilot Licenses (CPL) and one with a Private Pilot License (PPL) on October 1, 2024.

The International Aviation College (IAC), Ilorin, has successfully graduated 10 pilot students, marking a significant milestone for the institution. The ceremony, held on October 1, 2024, saw nine students earn their Commercial Pilot Licenses (CPL) and one student achieve a Private Pilot License (PPL).

Dr. Mary Arinde, Kwara State’s Commissioner for Tertiary Education, officiated the event, decorating the graduates in accordance with aviation standards on behalf of the state government. She commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, who serves as the Visitor to the College, for his consistent support in advancing the institution. Arinde also praised the college’s Governing Council and management, urging them to continue their efforts in maintaining the college’s excellence.

Mr. Mohammed Jibril, Registrar of IAC, extended gratitude to Governor AbdulRasaq for his contributions, including the procurement of a simulator, a new transformer, and funding for the foreign training of aircraft maintenance engineers and a flight instructor. Jibril emphasized that the state government's interventions are crucial for the institution’s ongoing development.

The Chief Flying Instructor from the Nigerian Aviation College (NCAT), Zaria, Capt. Barau Mohammed, who conducted the final assessments, described the graduates as being of international standards, capable of competing globally.

The graduating CPL students included Abdullahi Amir, Kuteyi Olakanmi, Mogaji Biliaminu, Jubril Sani Mohammed, Okuji Ogeri Niyan, Azodo Ikenna, Igwilo Michelle, and Ezema Chidera, while Abbass Lamido completed his PPL training.
