The delegation described Professor Ibileye’s emergence as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of the university as a milestone in the institution’s leadership history, expressing confidence in his capacity to drive academic and infrastructural advancement.
During the visit, the company highlighted its existing partnership with the university, particularly in supporting Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) placements for students in the Department of Geology. According to the management, the arrangement has provided students with practical exposure to industrial operations and enhanced their technical competence.
Jakura Marble Nigeria Limited also used the opportunity to extend goodwill to the Vice-Chancellor, pledging continued support for the institution and wishing him a successful tenure.

The delegation further informed the university leadership of its collaboration with the national body of Geosciences and announced its forthcoming Annual General Meeting scheduled to hold in Lokoja from October 12 to 15. The company formally requested institutional cooperation and support for the event.
The firm operates across two major locations, including Obajana, where it is engaged in processing and industrial operations, and Lokoja (Phase Two), where it focuses on stone cutting and limestone extraction used in the production of tiles and other durable stone products.
In his response, Professor Ibileye welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit and ongoing partnership. He also extended condolences to the Managing Director/CEO over the recent loss of a family member.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the collaboration between both institutions, describing it as valuable for student development, particularly in providing industry-based learning opportunities. He emphasized the need to deepen and expand the partnership in line with the university’s growing academic offerings.
He noted that emerging disciplines such as Engineering, Geology, Building, Architecture, and related fields present broader opportunities for stronger industry-academic engagement.

Professor Ibileye stressed the importance of strengthening practical training frameworks that connect academic knowledge with real-world application, describing such collaborations as essential to producing graduates who are both competent and industry-ready.
