JAMB Suspends Law Programme at Redeemer's University for One Year
Redeemer's University, Ede, Osun State, has confirmed a one-year suspension of its Law programme admissions by JAMB, following a penalty from the Council for Legal Education (CLE). The suspension stems from the university's 2017 commencement of the programme without CLE approval.
Redeemer's University, Ede, Osun State, has confirmed the one-year suspension of admission into its Law programme by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The university clarified that the penalty was imposed by the Council for Legal Education (CLE) due to the institution's commencement of its Law programme in 2017 with only the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and not CLE.
According to a statement issued by Adetunji Adeleye, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, Redeemer's University currently holds full accreditation from both NUC and CLE to run its undergraduate Law programme. The management assured that the one-year suspension does not affect students already enrolled in the Faculty of Law.
The university emphasized its commitment to adhering to regulatory guidelines and will comply with CLE’s directive by halting Law programme admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session. Prospective students are encouraged to explore other accredited programmes within the institution, as all courses at Redeemer's University meet the necessary accreditation standards.
Redeemer's University reiterated its respect for all regulatory bodies and pledged to continue upholding academic excellence and compliance with educational policies.
