Jonathan Attends Daughter’s Graduation in England

Former President Goodluck Jonathan was present at the University of Essex in Colchester, England, on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, to celebrate a proud family milestone—his daughter’s graduation with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. 

The ceremony was attended by family members, friends, and well-wishers, who gathered to mark the culmination of years of academic dedication and hard work. Jonathan appeared visibly joyful and proud as he posed for photographs with the graduate and exchanged pleasantries with other guests. 

This public appearance highlighted his continued interest in family affairs, even after leaving office. Accompanying the former president was Dr. Ayima Lott-Jonathan, widely believed to be his second wife and the mother of the graduate. 

The couple, who reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony two years ago, are also parents to four-year-old twin boys. Though they have maintained a relatively low profile, Wednesday’s event marked one of the few times they have appeared together publicly. 

The former president’s presence at the event drew attention from Nigerian diaspora communities in the UK, many of whom took to social media to extend their congratulations and express admiration for his continued commitment to family life.
