Kogi Governor Approves N497 Million for 2023 WASSCE Fees in Public Schools

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has approved the immediate disbursement of N497 million for the payment of the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for students enrolled in the state's public schools. 

This decision is part of the state's commitment to improve the educational system, ensuring that every child has access to quality education, irrespective of their socioeconomic status.

The move is also in line with the state government's "Zero Out-of-School Policy" and its pledge to provide free education from primary to secondary school levels in public schools. In total, 15,033 students across various schools will benefit from this initiative, facilitating a brighter educational future for Kogi youths.

Among the schools, Dekina has the highest number of students benefiting, with 1,867 beneficiaries, followed by Lokoja Local Government Area, which has 1,569 students, and Okene with 1,345 students.
