Kwara NSCDC Rescues Abducted Kogi State University Student

Operatives of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have successfully rescued Fauziyah Muhammed, a 400-level student from Kogi State University, Anyigba, who was abducted by suspected ritualists.

The 19-year-old English Education student was allegedly kidnapped after being hypnotized outside the university premises. On Monday, December 2, 2024, Dr. Umar Muhammed, the state commandant of the NSCDC, confirmed the rescue, revealing that Fauziyah was found wandering naked by residents of the Ajegunle-Isale community along Egbejila Road in Ilorin.

Dr. Muhammed explained that Fauziyah was disoriented and incoherent, likely due to the trauma she endured during her captivity. The concerned residents alerted community leaders, who handed her over to the NSCDC. Following her rescue, authorities confirmed that she had been abducted in Kogi State but was discovered stranded in Ilorin.

Fauziyah has since been reunited with her uncle, Mallam Salihu Aliu, who expressed deep gratitude to the NSCDC for their swift action. In an interview, Fauziyah shared that she could not recall how she ended up in Kwara State, explaining that she lost consciousness after bending to pick up a book she had dropped.
