Protesting parents, including Segun Bashorun, criticized the increase as sudden and arbitrary, claiming they were informed less than two days before resumption. They expressed frustration over a lack of communication and involvement in the decision-making process, noting that school officials have been largely unreachable.

The Lagos State Government has yet to respond to the protests.
