Lagos Researcher Launches Book to Aid Students in Obtaining Scholarships Abroad

Lagos-based researcher, Sheriff Lamidi, has introduced a new book titled "Career Paths and Opportunities for Engineering, Science, Arts, and Management Students" aimed at assisting graduate admission seekers in securing scholarships to study abroad.
During the book launch in the Ikeja area of Lagos State, Lamidi, who also works as an engineer, emphasized the book's comprehensive coverage of topics including career planning, job search strategies, resume writing, and networking.

Lamidi stated that the book's creation stemmed from his desire to establish Lead and Mentor, an educational social enterprise providing guidance and counseling to youths and students across all educational levels.
He expressed his commitment to supporting students pursuing graduate studies abroad, citing the success of three of his students who transitioned from Higher National Diploma (HND) to fully funded PhD programs.
The researcher's goal is to make the book widely accessible, particularly to secondary school students and undergraduates across Nigeria, with a vision to distribute 100,000 copies of the book.

In her remarks as the keynote speaker, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, the immediate-past Commissioner for Education of Lagos State, commended the book's publication. She highlighted its significance in addressing various career paths and providing direction for students in tertiary institutions.
Adefisayo emphasized the importance of equipping students with the necessary skills for future job opportunities, especially considering the evolving nature of the job market.
