Landmark University graduates 678 students, achieving a record 71 First Class Honours and being named Best Private University of the Year 2024.
Landmark University, located in Omu-Aran, has made a remarkable mark in the academic landscape by graduating a total of 678 students during its 11th Convocation Ceremony, titled "The Release of Pathfinders 2024," held on November 1, 2024. This year, the institution celebrated the highest number of First Class Honours in its history, with 71 undergraduate students achieving this prestigious distinction.
During the ceremony, Prof. Kolawole O. Ajanuku, Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, delivered a speech highlighting the university's outstanding performance. He announced that of the 678 graduates, 617 were undergraduates, while 61 were postgraduates, including 11 Ph.D. graduates and 6 Master’s degree holders. Additionally, 283 students graduated with Second Class Upper, 252 with Second Class Lower, and 11 with Third Class.
Prof. Ajanuku further emphasized Landmark University's recognition in academic development, as it was named the Best Private University of the Year for 2024. He also noted the university's impressive rankings in various academic metrics, including being rated as the second-best university in Nigeria (tied with others) and the third-best in West Africa according to the Times Higher Education University World Ranking. In the Impact Rankings 2024, Landmark University secured third place in Nigeria and ranked first in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, showcasing its commitment to quality education.
The ceremony was graced by notable figures, including the Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Regents, Dr. David Oyedepo, and Pastor Mrs. Faith Oyedepo, alongside other distinguished guests.
As Landmark University continues to set academic standards and achieve accolades, it stands as a beacon of excellence in higher education in Nigeria.
