LASU Alumna, Ayoka Roqeebat Kazeem, Pays Courtesy Visit to Vice-Chancellor After Winning 'Masoyinbo' Game Show

Ayoka Roqeebat Kazeem, a distinguished alumna of Lagos State University (LASU), has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, after winning a brand-new car on the popular Yoruba language game show, Masoyinbo.

The visit, which took place on July 10, 2025, was a celebration of Roqeebat's remarkable achievement, which is a testament to her intellectual acumen and mastery of the Yoruba language. Her academic foundation in the Department of Linguistics, African Languages, and Communication Arts, Faculty of Arts, LASU, played a significant role in her success.

During the visit, Roqeebat expressed her gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for her support and motherly role in ensuring LASU students have what it takes to stand out. She also appreciated her lecturers, Dr. Alimat Eleshin-Ajikobi and Dr. Oyewole Olomu, for their contributions to her success.

The Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oseni Taiwo Afisi, commended Roqeebat for her achievement and expressed pride in associating with an achiever in the field of indigenous Yoruba studies. The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged families to be proud speakers of their respective indigenous languages within their homes.

The visit was attended by various LASU officials, including the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Professor Ayo Ayodeji Ayodele, and other staff members.
