LASU Opens Admission for 2023/2024 Postgraduate Programmes

Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, is now accepting applications for part-time and full-time admission into its diverse range of postgraduate programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session. The Postgraduate School invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for various programmes across multiple faculties and departments.

General Admission Requirements Applicants must have at least five credits in Ordinary Level examinations, including English Language. Additionally, Mathematics is required for Science, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, and Educational Management courses.

Faculty of Arts

• Department of African Languages: Programmes include Postgraduate Diplomas, M.A., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in Yoruba Language, Literature, and Culture.
• Department of History and International Studies: Options include Postgraduate Diplomas, M.A., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in International Relations, Strategic Studies, History, and Diplomacy.
• Department of Religions & Peace Studies: Offers postgraduate diplomas, M.A., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in Christian and Islamic Studies.
• Department of English: M.A., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in English Language and Literature.
• Department of Foreign Languages: Includes programmes in Translation, Arabic, and French Studies.
• Department of Theatre Arts and Music: Offers postgraduate diplomas, M.A., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in Theatre Arts and Music.
• Department of Philosophy: M.A., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in Philosophy.

Faculty of Education

• Programmes include Postgraduate Diplomas, M.Ed., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. across various specializations such as Counselling Psychology, Educational Management, Science and Technology Education, and Language Arts.

Centre for Environment Science and Sustainable Development (CESSED)

• Offers postgraduate diplomas, Master's, M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in Environmental Education and Resource Management.

Faculty of Engineering

• Departments of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Chemical and Polymer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering offer postgraduate diplomas, M.Sc., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. programmes.

Faculty of Law

• Programmes include LL.M., MLS, and postgraduate diplomas in Maritime, Taxation, and Legal Studies.

Faculty of Management Sciences

• Includes postgraduate diplomas, MBA, M.Sc., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Doctoral programmes in Public Administration, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Project Management, Marketing, and Insurance.

Faculty of Science

• Programmes in Botany, Fisheries, Biochemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology & Environmental Biology, and Microbiology.

Faculty of Social Sciences

• Departments of Economics, Geography, Sociology, and Psychology offer postgraduate diplomas, M.Sc., M.Phil/Ph.D., and Doctoral programmes.

School of Transport & Logistics

• Offers postgraduate diplomas, Master's, M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in Transport Planning, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management.

College of Medicine (LASUCOM, Ikeja)

• Departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Community Health, Medical Biochemistry, Pathological Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Dental Sciences offer advanced postgraduate programmes.

School of Agriculture

• Offers postgraduate diplomas, Master's, M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D. in Animal Science.

Application Process Interested candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of N30,000.00 online. All applicants are required to undergo a qualifying examination/screening on the Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

Important Dates and Information

• Sale of application forms closes six weeks from the date of publication.
• All academic transcripts must be submitted within two weeks after the application deadline.
• Candidates must personally attend the selection or written examinations as no make-up tests will be conducted.

Steps for Application

1. Visit LASU's website.
2. Navigate to the Students tab, click on New Application, and select the PG School/ACEITSE link.
3. Generate an Application Number and complete the required steps for payment and application form submission.
