LASU Prof. Tunji Azeez Elected President of Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists

Professor Tunji Azeez, Acting Dean of the School of Creativity, Culture, and Tourism Studies at Lagos State University (LASU), has been elected as the 11th President of the Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists (SONTA).

The election took place at the 38th SONTA International Conference and 39th Annual General Meeting, recently hosted by LASU.

Prof. Azeez has pledged to provide purposeful and service-driven leadership, aiming to take SONTA to greater heights through dedication and sacrifice.As a renowned scholar and administrator, Prof. Azeez has made significant contributions to theatre studies, cultural scholarship, and creative practice, both nationally and internationally.

The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, congratulated Prof. Azeez on his achievement, noting that it reflects the institution's tradition of excellence and expressing confidence in his leadership of SONTA.
